Notice of Application for Funding Through HUD PRO Housing Grant Program

Bennettsville, Marlboro County

Public Hearing

Project:

The South Carolina Office of Resilience (SCOR) intends to submit an application for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) grant funding opportunity. The grant application, entitled “Bridging the Gap Between Buyout and Affordable Housing Obstacles: Pilot Project in a HUD Identified Priority Area,” focuses on eliminating barriers to affordable, resilient housing. If awarded, funds will be used to develop a pilot project to bridge the gap between SCOR’s HUD Community Development Block Grant Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) Buyout Program and affordable housing obstacles in Marlboro County, South Carolina. SCOR is requesting grant funding to implement the eligible PRO Housing grant activity of financing the construction of affordable housing. Additionally, if awarded, funds will ensure that affordable housing is resilient to environmental change and natural hazards.

Hearing:

A public hearing will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bennettsville Community Center, 714 N Marlboro St., Bennettsville, SC 29512.
